Jason Derulo's new single 'The Other Side' is about girlfriend Jordin Sparks -- FIRST LISTENJason Derulo returns to the music scene today with his new pop single “The Other Side” — which is about his longtime girlfriend (and American Idol alum) Jordin Sparks. The thumping rhythm and the chorus’ hook should supply enough chart success to make this his next big hit.

Produced by Ammo and Dr. Luke, Jason reveals that he spent ”a year working on this album and it’s become my best work thus far.”

He adds, ”I wanted to make a record that I wanted to listen to all the time. Not just this year, not just next year, but for a long time.” The new single serves as the lead offering from his forthcoming album, out this summer

Selena Gomez dabbles in tribal influences with new single “Come and Get It” — AUDIO

Selena Gomez dabbles in tribal influences with new single "Come and Get It" -- AUDIODisney pop princess Selena Gomez continues to shed her roots with her new tribal-inspired single “Come and Get It.” As a roller coaster of emotions, Gomez jams about a former flame and the on-again, off-again nature of the relationship — perhaps an insiders look at her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber. Unlike “Love You Like a Love Song,” the new track is a slower, rather mid-tempo, groove but still grips tightly to a memorable melody and arrangement.

Do I smell some bussing and/or favoritism going on?
